"Changes" is the first single off of American rapper 2Pac's greatest hits album "Greatest Hits".
The song was released in October 13, 1998.
The song is about what it's like to live in poverty as a black man in the ghetto.
It talks about drug addiction, racism and the relationship between the African American community and the police.
The original version of the song had samples from Run DMC and Ice Cube on the chorus but it was later replaced by R&B group Talent.
The song heavily samples the song "The Way It Is" by Bruce Hornsby and the Range.
The song was able to make it to #32 on the "Billboard" Hot 100 and #12 on the "Billboard" R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
After his death, it was nominated for "Best Rap Solo Performance" at the 42nd Grammy Awards but lost to Eminem's "My Name Is".
