Herman T. Briscoe

Herman Thompson Briscoe (1893–1960) was an American chemist and professor.
Indiana University has a professorship and a dormitory named after him, honoring his contributions.

Early life and education.

Herman T.
Briscoe, born in 1893 in Indiana, started as a teacher before earning a chemistry degree in 1917.
He briefly served in the U.
S.
Army and worked as a research chemist.
He taught at various schools and eventually earned an advanced degree from Indiana University in 1924.
He married Orah Elberta Briscoe in 1928, and they had four children.
