Ichthyosporea

The Ichthyosporea (or DRIP clade, or Mesomycetozoea) is a group of microscopic organisms within the Opisthokont group.
They are mostly parasites of fish and other animals.

Terminology.

The original name, "ichthyosporea", described the first discovered species in the group (such as Sphaeroforma arctica).
They were all parasites of fish.

Phylogeny.

Its main groups are Dermocystida and Ichthyophonida
